This photo was taken inside a mirrored observatory overlooking New York City. You come for the skyline—the thrill of being above it all, admiring the buildings from a distance. But once inside, it becomes clear that the real view isn't the city. It's us. The mirrors pull attention inward. People spend more time looking at their own reflections—and at each other—than at the actual landscape.

When I realized that, I was suddenly relieved I hadn't worn a dress that morning. A few minutes later, I overheard the girls in this photo come to the same realization. Their laughter faded, one turned as white as her dress, the other as red as her fingernails. The image looks playful, even absurd at first glance. But there's a subtle humiliation tucked inside it, an unintentional exposure created by design.

This moment stayed with me because it captures something more than a body or a trick of perspective. It shows how easily a space meant for wonder becomes one of vulnerability. And how often we don't realize we're being watched until it's already too late.
